"God hath not promised skies always blue, flower shrewn pathways all our lives through. God hath promised joy without pain, peace without sorrow or sun without rain. God hath promised strength for the day, rest for the labor, light for the way, grace for the trials, help from above, unfailing sympathy and undying love." Author Unknown Welcome To Louis DeAugusta - Deceased March 24, 1986

| There never was
I man I admired so much as Dad. He was born too early, and he died too soon.
He was a fighter who never gave up -- till the end.

Dad was very generous and loving. He was a philosopher and many of the things he taught his children serve them well today. We loved him dearly. | |||

| Louis DeAugusta, the second
of two children, was born to Joseph and Louise
DAgosto on June 10, 1915. He grew up with his sister, Marion, three years his
senior in Ellenville, New York where his father helped to construct roads and
bridges. During the Depression, they returned to Jersey City where Louis worked
during the day and went to school at night. Louis, met his wife, Marion, at a party
held in the home of a friend. He asked her to marry him as they danced for the first
time. However, it took Marion seven years to say, "Yes." Louis spent his life as an entrepreneur establishing and running several businesses from gas stations to restaurants. In spite of the fact Louis suffered from failing vision and eventually became blind in later life, his adventurous spirit was never diminished. He was an extraordinary man, husband, and father. Theres a line from the play "Aunty Mame" which comes to mind when thinking of Louis: "Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death." Louis sat at the Table of Life and ate a hearty meal. He continues to be loved and greatly missed since his death in 1986. Stella DeAugusta
